GRT Strike Updates

Monday May 4 Update: The Members of Unifor Local 4304 have ratified an agreement with the Region of Waterloo. There will be no disruption to GRT services, including buses, ION trains, and MobilityPLUS.

Friday May 1 Update: The Region of Waterloo and Unifor Local 4303 have reached a tentative agreement. The union membership will hold a ratification vote on the tentative agreement on Sunday, May 3. All buses, including MobilityPLUS continue to operate. Further updates will be provided following the vote. Union members remain in a legal position to strike. Updates are being posted on grt.ca/updates.

What GRT services are impacted by a strike?

Conventional GRT, MobilityPLUS, and busPLUS  buses will not run and customer service centres will be closed. ION trains will continue to operate, the ION schedule is available here.

What alternative transit solutions are available?
